Ladle
Wick with tab
Candle Scent (optional)

First prepare your work space.  Cover your work area with parchment paper or butcher paper.  (Do not use waxed paper or newspaper as the wax or print will transfer to your counter).

1)  Heat your soy wax to manufacturer's instructions.  About 180-190 for Pillar Extreme BW921
2)  Ladle about 4oz of soy wax into pour pot and add first color.  If adding scent do so at this time.  Stir (swirl) for two minutes and pour/drizzle curvy lines onto jelly roll tray.
3)  Working quickly and repeat step #2 with second color.
4)  Again working quickly, ladle 1 pound of votive soy wax into pour pot, add dye and scent (optional), stir for 2 minutes and cover previous colors in pan.  What you see may look something like this on the top at this point.  (This will actually be the bottom of your pieces)

5)  Place cookie cutters into wax in pan and press down when wax feels like cake.

6) When wax is firm enough to hold a straw place in center of each cookie cutter to hold wick placement. See above.

Let your wax cool.  You can see the wax freezing. This is too soon.
Heart shape in wax
This was done too soon.  Notice the wax gushing at the sides.  Wait a few minutes and place cutter in the same spot.

7) When wax holds shape, use straw or toothpick to make holes in the middle of the piece.  Or leave in wax while cooling and remove later.
8)  Let fully cool
9)  When cool, carefully wax pieces from tray.  Remove straw pieces if still in wax.  Using wick start with largest wax piece and string all cut out wax pieces through holes.

Forget to put in holes?  Use a metal rod that is heated with a blow dryer or heat gun to poke holes.  Heat rod, poke piece, heat, poke, repeat until you get through without breaking your piece.  **Wear a hot pad if poker doesn't have a protective end.
