Wave Wick
Composition: USA Maple
Size: 30mm x 120mm (1.18" x 4.72") or 20mm x 120mm (.75" x 4.72")
Thickness: .5mm
Recommended Use Diameter with Soy Wax: ~4" (30mm) or 3" (20mm)
Recommended for Soy Wax
Not recommended for Coco Extreme (BW917). Wave Wicks have not been working well in our tests.
Untreated-You may see wax on the wicks already. It is used to plane the wood. It has not soaked into the wood.
We recommend soaking the Wave Wick in the wax that you will be using for about 10 minutes. After cutting to starting length trimming is not necessary. In order to easily re-light wick simply extinguish by re-coating wick with liquid wax. We recommend using a small spoon.

***Wave Wicks are all natural. As such there may be times after re-lighting that the candle will not stay lit. You CAN get the candle to stay lit but it may require a bit of work. First, make sure the wick was primed. Second, make sure to put it out by putting wax over it. Third, if it is not staying let trim off blacked wick and tilt candle to allow a bit of wax to move away from the wick. If you are worried about this then Wave Wicks may not be for you.
***Recommended results obtained with Golden Wax 464. As with all wicking our results are merely a starting point for your own testing. As with any candle wax, scent or jar differences will affect your burning outcome. As with anything new it is always suggested to purchase small amounts to test with before purchasing larger amounts.

I was a bit hesitant on these wicks because of the reviews. I ordered them anyway and I'm very glad i did!! I did do it a bit different with mine. I soaked them in FO for about 15 to 20 min b4 pouring. I also did trim to about 1/5th" and then b4 the next burn I trimmed the charred part of the wick. It burned beautifully!
I picked the wave wick because I am super in love with the look of it. I primed it in the soy coconut blend wax that I use for my candles. I had no issues priming it, it was easy peasy! I honestly thought this was going to be a slam dunk. I use for my smallest candle, a cube vessel that is 6 cm squared or 2 and 5/8 in squared. This wick did not perform well. My melt pool did not reach the sides and I ended up with tunneling after 4 hours of test burning. The website suggests that this size wick that I used, the .75 size to cover a 3" vessel so I figured mines smaller there shouldn't be a problem. So far I have burn tested three of my candles with this wick and all three have the tunneling (was melt pool did not reach to the edges of the vessel). I might have to give up my ideals and search for different wick. The next size up is 1.18" and would definitely be too big for this. I have other vessels to try with this wick in but now I'm concerned they're not going to work either because they are larger vessels. They are 4-in diameter vessels which is suggested on the website for the larger wave wick size which is what I purchased for that. Now I'm thinking I've just wasted my time, money, and inventory. It's so heartbreaking!! I was so set on these! I gave two stars just because they did not work out. I'm conflicted because I want to give them full Stars but they did not do what they say they do on the website.
Hello Christina, You don't mention which scent you were using to test. As with all candle making every scent/wax/wick combo is it's own unique system. Since these wicks have limited sizes not all combos will work and that is why we as candle makers invest in our craft and test. So it was very good that you tested! We would love to investigate this further with you if you would like to contact us customer @ candlecocoon.com
After re-reading I have more advise to offer. You didn't mention how far from the sides the melt pool ended after the first burn. If the candle is more than 2' deep you don't necessarily want the melt pool to reach the sides on the first burn because as a candle burns down it burns out and could get too hot by the middle of the burn and end up being a torch by the end of the burn. I could give it some more burns before you give up. If the wax wasn't too far from the edge this may actually be the perfect wick.
I love the look of these wicks however they are flimsy and cheap. They burn to fast. Sure wish they could be made better because they are super cute.
So sorry you didn't like the looks of them. Unfortunately if they were thicker they would not burn the same. And I am very glad that you didn't get that many. It is very good that you just got a sample amount. The one thing that I wonder about is why you are saying they burn too fast. I would love for you to get in touch so that we could try to see why this is happening? Were you able to prime them?
Absolutely love these wicks will be buying more they go great in my large candles. Flame is tolerable not to high and they burn good. Normally with wood wicks you have to trim after each burn with wick clippers these are easy maintenance. They are safe and they also give off an awesome hot throw with only 5 mins in. I’ve used different wood wick but with these I’ll never go back. LOVE LOVE LOVE !!!!!
I'm in love with these wicks. I didn't realize how large they were, so I cut them down the middle and got double the amount now lol. These burn so well. I did a test burn with one using the Daydream Believer oil. Wasn't sure how it would do since it's mostly essential oils, but it did great. Nice cold and HT, flame didn't get real high like some others I've used, you have to keep relighting it etc. I bought some from a well know company that sells WoodWicks and not one of them would stay lit for more than 5 seconds, in or out of wax, so I'm happy to have found these!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a kick a** wood wick. I know I'll.most certainly be using these in my line.
