Oud, Turmeric and Saffron - Fragrance Oil
Oud, Turmeric and Saffron Fragrance Oil
Oud, Turmeric and Saffron! This one came about because I have been getting asked for Oud. Until about two years ago I had not idea what the heck Oud even was. Oud. Oud. It is fun to say. Try it! I was intrigued. Who wouldn't be with that name. So I started checking out the resin. Ouch, it sure isn't cheap! In my search for creating the perfect Oud I did a lot of research and learned that Oud actually comes from Agarwood that is infected with a certain type of mold which produces a resin. Sounds disgusting but it is wonderful. The resin is very aromatic. Without the mold the wood doesn't have a smell. Pretty nifty! And can you believe that mold make this wood worth more than gold! Crazy! I fell in love with the smell of Oud. It is a very "masculine" scent. Very deep and rich and woody. I really love the touches of spice that the Turmeric and Saffron add to the dark woody notes. It makes it lighter without adding sweetness. Just mesmerizing!!!

I am unfamiliar with oud so this is my first experience smelling anything like it--keep that in mind. That said, I can still speak to how it "feels" while burning, which is just great. It's warm, enveloping, and gracious. It's rich and creamy, somewhat sultry, but not heavy. It's also sort of "perfumy" and sweet (but only sort of). Overall, it's deep and understated yet powerful, in a secretive sort of way--maybe like how nobody knew Clark Kent was actually Superman or how the "wallflower" in the room (like Lady Gaga when in school), would outshine them all.
Bought this for the saffron and found it authentic. A good mixer.
This is such a sweet, sexy fragrance. I cannot get over how warm, sweet, yet truly masculine this scent is. It truly is elevated to such a happy place in wax.
Okay! I have never on any site given a review on a fragrance. But seriously, this scent almost made me want to cry from joy just smelling it right out of the bottle. I haven’t even made a candle yet, I can’t speak to that… but this fragrance is incredible. If you ever get rid of it, you will lose a customer. Keep it and you’ll keep me as long as I’m making candles and beyond! So thankful I took a chance.
Smells pretty good
