After months of testing we have found an incredible base dye. We are now working on perfecting our Flutter Dye formula!
Here is a picture votives made with our New Black Flutter Dye! Please keep in mind that all viewing monitors are different.
Pictured below are examples of votives made using .375, .626, .75, 1,1.75 and 2 Black Flutter Dyes per 2oz votive. When making the votive that uses 1 Flutter Dye per 2oz votive it's mold was not fully heated which resulted in "frosting" which makes the candle look more gray in pictures.
The picture above is a close up of our true black votive using 2 Flutter Dyes per 2oz votive.
Also! They burn great. Our normal base wick (no color, no scent) is a CD8. We test burned them and they did fabulous! There is just a tiny bit of cling left at the bottom which is how a candle should end. Beautiful!
Additional Note-Candle glass is very old and wasn't washed before testing.
Still testing-Tea lights normally use a base wick of a CD3. We only tested one tea light so far. It had a tiny flame and went out in an hour. We will give an update on tea light candle testing with our new black dye.
Stay tuned! Our new dye is not available for purchase yet. We still have some testing to do!
Update!!! Just released the NEW and improved Spicebush! 2/22/17 To get a super deep black you need only 8 per pound. We could have stopped at 5 per pound for a good black. Many didn't notice the difference. Just test first and take good notes on what you like. Order Here
