Carving Letters into a Candle and Adding Gold

I had a special request at the store for a wedding candle.  Usually the wedding candles we do are all white.  This time the lovely bride and groom wanted something a little more special and I was happy to help them with their choice!  They wanted their initials carved in the candle.  I haven't done that before so I was a little worried but the results turned out beautiful on my first attempt!  I thought this may be something that you may like to try out.First I made a plain candle for them.   I then figured out the font...

Maybe it is because of the way I test that the people that use my oils don't need to worry about flashpoint.  When I am bringing a new scent into the line up, I test by heating my soy wax between 180-190F, adding my scent, stirring for 2 minutes and pouring immediately.  I test hundreds and hundreds of scents using this...

Candle Cocoon's Secret Pillar Candle Recipe

Candle Cocoon's Secret Pillar Candle Recipe Years ago we used to blend and sell our own wax blend that makes incredibly beautiful pillar candles.  With the decline of people that make pillar candles we have stopped selling our blend.  But I know there is still a small segment of the candle making population that loves to experiment with pillars.  Personally, I find paraffin pillar wax lends itself to being very creative.  So, I want to share our recipe with you all. This recipe will make your wax very opaque and will not allow for mottling.Excellent scent throw and burn properties.1 pound ~140MP...
