Shea Butter - Refined Organic
from $4.00
Our Refined Organic Natural Shea Butter is considered to be high in vitamin and mineral content. AKA Shea Nut Butter is extracted from the Shea nut. This natural butter is filtered to remove any impurities, resulting in a creamy white to off white color and an ultra high quality pure product. The refined shea butter also has less odor, making it highly sought after in the soap making and personal care industry.
Our Organic Shea Butter is refined so very little to any of the natural Shea oder remains. Any remaining Shea smell is usually lost in hot and cold process soap making. Shea butter is a soft solid at room temperature. Traditionally Shea butters have been known to be used in Africa for cooking, medical and cosmetic applications. The primary use of virgin Shea nut butter in the United States is for cosmetic applications. Shea Butter is an incredible emollient due to it's non-saponifiable components. Namely it's unique fatty acid profile. Shea Butter is also thought to contribute to increased skin elasticity.
*Note color variation may occur due to crop source and environmental situations.

Coconut Oil - Organic RBD -76F Melt Point
from $3.00
Organic RBD Coconut Oil:
Candle Cocoon Organic RBD Coconut Oil is fully "refined" and naturally deodorized and whitened without harsh chemicals. Natural clays are used in the "bleaching" process. Liquid at temperatures over 76º F. Extremely common in both hot and cold process soap making, lotions, and many other cosmetic uses such as lip-balms. Helps produce a wonderful and rich lather in soap. All Natural. Hexane is NOT used to make this product.
Our RBD organic coconut oil is expeller pressed from the meat of the coconut. It is then refined using an all natural process that removes most of the coconut smell and flavor. The remaining product is a blank canvas that can be added to many products without affecting the final products taste or color but still retains much of it's nutrient content.
High content of saturated fatty acids, mainly Lauric Acid (C12:0), cause the oil to be solid at room temperature and also makes it highly resistant to rancidity.

Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base Ingredients Coconut OilSustainable Palm OilSafflower OilGlycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin) Shea Butter (refined)Purified WaterSodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent)SorbitolPropylene Glycol (made from vegetable glycerine)Sorbitan Oleate (emulsifier)Oat ProteinTitanium Dioxide (mineral used to whiten soaps)
As many customers have inquired about process aids, we offer the following information:
Our process aids are used in small amounts, on an as needed basis, and are not essential for product function. They are subject to change as they are constantly evolving and changing due to the availability of newer and better materials, marketplace demands, etc. In order to provide our customers with various desired features such as ease of remelting and re-batching, finished product final appearance, etc. we may or may not use small amounts of the following (or similar) materials: Bio Propylene Glycol (made entirely from vegetable glycerine) This material is often omitted but we have also listed it as an ingredient as larger amounts are sometimes used.
****Excluded in FREE soap bases: Cocamidopropylamine Oxide (made from renewable vegetable sources), Disodium Sulfosuccinate (made from renewable vegetable sources), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (made from renewable vegetable sources).
***All the above materials are biodegradable. SLS or SLES are not used.
***NOTE***Melt and Pour Soap base may arrive a bit brittle due to freezing in transport. We are in WI so there is nothing we can do about that. Chances are very good your base will have frozen at some point. The base will be fine. You should test a small amount before making a larger batch by heating in the microwave and cutting.
If brittle from freezing -
Single Pour Bar Soap (not cutting from a loaf) - No special treatment is necessary. Can be used "as is" and the finished bar will be harder than normal/last longer. Or you can add 3-5% water or glycerine to bring the soap back to original texture.
Loaf Soap (Will be sliced) - To soften the soap for slicing add water or glycerine at about 7% - 10% for nice slices. You can use an even higher amount but test prior to putting in colors/fragrance since you can always remelt add more soap etc.
Remember adding more glycerine will increase sweating but also makes a more moisturizing soap.
