Make Your Own Candle Burning Warning Labels

If you make and sell candles you will need warning labels. You can purchase pre-made generic labels from many different sources.  But if you want to customize labels you will generally need to work with a printer to get what you want or spend hours and hours with various printing programs.  I have created a simple template that you can use with Microsoft word.  No special program needed. You can use it as is with 25UP label paper or you can manipulate the margins to match the sizes of more readily available labels.   I recommend testing your own labels by printing on a regular sheet of paper and overlaying it on top of your label paper.  You can see where the labels should be by holding the combo up to a bright light, window or drafting table.

I have included the ASTM pictagrams on the labels along with other basic candle burning instructions.  If you have other information you should be able to change any of the wording to fit your needs.

I used Times New Roman 6pt font for the main body.  8pt for the weight and burn time.  6pt bold for the store name and 5.5ft for the website and phone number.  I put the lines in with the "-" key in the caps lock position.

The other nice thing about this label is that I have left room at the bottom for you to add your own burn time and company information.

Simply download and save the template.   When you open the word document you may need to click the "enable editing" button on the top of the page.
