Give your Glass a Special Look! Emboss Glass!

Posted by Lyschel Bersch on

I have been turning on the creative juices lately in regards to packaging.  I have these really cute triangle diffuser oil bottles that I wanted to jazz up a little.  I had about 20 minutes to play around and I came up with embossed glass!  I am not a scrapbook-er but I have a lot of supplies around for things that I want to try with candle packaging.

I am by no means an expert on any of this!  I am just sharing what worked for me.  I didn't have an "embossing buddy"  so I used a tea bag to make sure my bottle was clean and dry and static free.

I used a removable clear stamp on a clear block so I could see through the block to see if all of the stamp was making contact with the glass.  If it didn't make contact everywhere I just washed off the Versamark and started over.

I then poured my embossing powder on my mark, tapped off the excess and blew on the mark to remove stray powder.  I poured the excess powder back in the jar.

I then heated the mark with a heat gun.  I started on low and moved to high.  It took about a minute and the powder changed color and became shinny.  Be careful as the glass can get very hot.

If there are any stray specks they can be scraped off with a fingernail.  Otherwise the mark is pretty durable and can even be washed gently if needed to remove dirt or fingerprints.  So easy and so cute!
