Is my candle too efficient? Not a question that I think about very often. Especially not with a vanilla scent. Vanillas are notoriously hard to wick. But not the Vanilla Voodoo! I have always know to wick down with this one. My usual base wick (without scent or dye) for a 3" diameter using Enchanted Lites Classic Soy Wax is a CD18. So when I did my recent testing I used CD12, CD14 and CD16. I expected that there would be one of the three that burned correctly and that the other two would be too big or small. What...

Just read the lovely book "The Language of Flowers" by Vanessa Diffenbaugh and it has really resonated with me. In the book flowers are identified as having a very deep, personal and real meaning that can be conveyed to another person if they understand the language (of even if they don't). I understand this at a base level. Scent is very much like this for me. It is a language with meanings that seem to transcend the spoken language. Maybe it is just me but when I reach for a scent to burn I am calling up something within me...

By candle maker, I mean a profession that sells candles. It doesn't matter if you want to sell to just a few friends or sell a few hundred at craft fairs or if you want to stock all of Macy's! Candle making can be fun and profitable but there is a steep learning curve! How do you get started? There is so much information that it can simply be overwhelming! And unfortunately a lot of the information is either bad or incomplete. Most seasoned professionals keep their cards close to their chests. They don't share a lot of real information...
